When you register for the PlaasTrack waiting list or deploy the farm software, we collect only necessary operational details:
- Farmer Identity & Contact: Full name, telephone number (Botswana +267 mobile), and email address.
- Holding Information: Farm name, cattle post / moraka identifier, agricultural district, and estimated herd size.
- Agricultural Operation Focus: Livestock sector (e.g., Commercial Beef, Stud Breeding, Smallstock, Dairy).
- Operational Records (App Users): Animal ear tag numbers, birth and weaning logs, treatment histories, and lick / feed accounting entries.
2. Purpose of Data Processing
We process your data strictly to:
- Reserve and allocate your farm's priority onboarding slot in our early access cohort.
- Deliver scheduled WhatsApp digests and farm operational notifications to designated device owners.
- Provide offline-first data synchronization between your field devices and encrypted cloud storage.
- Coordinate requested hands-on on-farm field assistance and notebook deliveries.
3. Data Ownership and Confidentiality
You retain 100% full legal ownership of all herd records, financial entries, pedigree trees, and farm coordinates entered into PlaasTrack. You may request a complete export (in CSV, PDF, or JSON format) or total deletion of your stored records at any time by contacting our governance desk.
4. Data Storage & Encryption Standards
All transmitted data is encrypted in transit using Transport Layer Security (TLS 1.3) and encrypted at rest utilizing AES-256 standard encryption. When operating offline at the cattle post, data resides securely in an encrypted local database on your device until network connection is re-established.
5. Third-Party Disclosures
PlaasTrack does not sell, lease, or distribute farmer records to external commercial entities. Data is only accessible to authorized technical staff strictly for troubleshooting, system maintenance, or when required under lawful judicial process within the Republic of Botswana.
